President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) said that the government has dealt with the regulation of work by applicationssuch as Uber and iFood, as a priority.
In a meeting of the recreated “Conselhão”, the president highlighted the decree of May 1 that created a committee to draw up a set of rules for informal workers who provide services via apps.
The document talks regarding regulating the provision of services, transport of goods, transport of people and other activities carried out through technological platforms.
The working group must make the regulation through a normative act, and the delegation is composed of 45 members divided into three groups: federal government, application workers and employers.
Lula said in a ceremony at the Planalto Palace that he is not once morest app workers.
I’m not once morest it, no. What I think is that it is up to the State to guarantee social security. If the bicycle falls, if the car crashes, if the motorcycle breaks down, if that citizen gets hurt, who will pay for it? We have to treat him like a human being. Therefore, we have to make a beautiful regulation, so that we have a more civilized world of work.
Currently, the Minister of Labor, Luiz Marinho, has been talking to companies, unions and other entities that represent app workers regarding the best way to build regulation in the sector.
At the end of the process, a bill must be sent to the National Congress.
