A customer made an exciting find at Edeka. There is an old dedication written in a free book from 1994. The lines raise questions.

Munich – There can be countless stories behind used books. Who had it all in their hands over the years? Which places has it traveled to? Such considerations should now also drive a customer at Edeka. She picked up a book she liked from a free bookcase in an Edeka branch. Upon opening, she found a personal dedication that raises questions.

Edeka customer finds old book with personal dedication: “Dear Tanja!”

The finder published a photo of the book page on Twitter. “Dear Tanja!”, the sender named Anna starts her dedication there. She talks regarding a walk in the city and how she suddenly felt like giving “Tanja” something. Then she thought of the book. It would have taken some time before she actually found the book to buy. “I thought regarding getting you something else, but I wouldn’t have been satisfied in any way.”

The sender Anna goes on to write in the dedication that she herself was given the book by an acquaintance, but only read it two years later. “When I read it myself, I was blown away. It really is one of the most beautiful books (also to be read aloud) that I know.” Finally, she wishes “Tanja” a lot of fun reading. “Love, Anna.”

Edeka: Customer comes across old dedication in book – “What became of you?”

According to the dedication, the book was apparently meant as a real gift from the heart. The Edeka customer then shared her thoughts on the find online: “Now of course I’m wondering who are Tanja and Anna? What became of them? And why is the book in the free bookcase at Edeka?”

She is not alone in her curiosity. “What a story,” comments a user on the photo of the dedication and then gets into conversation with the finder. She then replies: “Sort of. The book is from 1994, so a lot must have happened in between.”

Another user asks for the title of the book, which is not clear from the photo. According to the finder, it is “The Bride Princess”, a book regarding “S. Morgenstern’s classic tale of true love and noble adventure. Abridged and edited by William Goldman”. The Edeka customer continues to write that she already knows the book but now wants to read it once more. But she won’t find the answers to her questions there. They can probably only give “Tanja” and “Anna”. (nz)

A woman recently made another impressive find in an old purse: an Edeka relic from 1969. Many find it exciting.
