NCAA – Point guard Tylor Perry, following two good seasons with North Texas, has effectively announced his commitment to the Wildcats, authors of an excellent 2022/23 season.
After a return to the fore embodied by this excellent 2022/23 season (26 wins and 10 losses and a “run” to the “Elite Eight” of the “March Madness”), Kansas State is giving itself the means to maintain high expectations for next season. Starting with securing the signing of one of the best point guards available on the NCAA transfer portal: Tylor Perry.
After starting his career in 2019 at a second-tier university in Kansas, the point guard joined North Texas in 2021. First a solid substitute in 2021/22 (13.5 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.5 assists), he had joined the five last season, and had been a hit (17.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game).
At Kansas State, he will therefore play his fifth and final season with
an ambitious team, which is coming off a brilliant 2022/23 financial year under the leadership of “rookie” coach Jerome Tang. On the position of leader, he will obviously take over from Markquis Nowell, one of the very best players in the country on this position last season (17.6 points, 8.3 assists and 2.6 interceptions), even more during the “March Madness” (23.5 points and 13.5 passes).
Less good “playmaker” than the native elf of New York, he is nonetheless an experienced player in this important position in the NCAA, and his presence will be stabilizing for the Wildcats, and precious for the two “freshmen” leaders RJ Jones and David Castillo, whom he will certainly take under his wing.
