Despite having a long career in the entertainment industry, Taeyang still feels a little pressured when approaching the new promotion trend of today’s generation of Gen Z idols.

Re-appearing with a new music project, Taeyang (Big Bang) had the opportunity to become a guest of Vogue Singapore in March. More than 5 years have passed since he last returned with a solo product in 2017, the K-pop industry has not stopped changing with the inheritance and promotion of a younger, more dynamic class of artists. Following the times, the male artist also openly shared regarding the prevailing trends as well as their impact on a Gen 2 idol like him.

Since returning to the music track, Taeyang actively participates in many social networking platforms as well as excitedly “trending” choreography with other artists.

The owner of the hit “Ringa Linga” admits that promoting music today is not as simple as releasing an album years ago: “I was exposed to Gen 3 and Gen 4 idols through other soldiers when I was in the army. From there, I realized how culturally different we are.”, Taeyang expressed. Despite this, the male idol still wants to capture these changes: “I started to be curious regarding how they approach things, understand more regarding the different trends or platforms they are interested in.”

As an artist with many years of experience, Taeyang is like a rookie in new fields like this, specifically he said: “I started taking on dance challenges or entering new platforms, but I would be lying if I said there was no pressure. These are all novelties that I have never tried before. However, when I actually experienced it, it was much easier than I thought.” Not only looking forward to seeing fans once more, the Big Bang member also expressed his wish “can inspire through attitude, music as well as approach to life and art” to other generations of young idols.

In the 17th year of his career, the male artist is still devoted to 6 tracks from the EP “Down To Earth” released on April 25. Returning following a long hiatus, the Big Bang member still proves his sustainable charm when the songs are still warmly received by the public. In the Vietnamese market, the handshake “Shoong!” and Lisa quickly entered the Billboard Vietnam Hot 100 this week at No.68 in just over two days of accumulating points. Previously, the product “VIBE” in collaboration with Jimin (BTS) achieved positive results when it debuted at No.9 in the first week of its appearance.
