The Magyar Nemzet writes: the demonstration, which was held on Alkotmány Street following marching from the Basilica, began at 4:30 p.m. At the demonstration, a seven-question referendum initiative was announced, and then the movement was declared closed. The organizers then announced that the demonstration would continue at Clark Ádám Square, where they would reach via Margit Bridge, as pedestrians and motorists were not allowed to cross the Chain Bridge. The route was secured because it was a movement that had been reported to the police in advance. For this reason, the police closed the side of Margit híd towards Pest for a while.
Left-wing members of parliament are also participating in the demonstration, so Ákos Hadházy, András Fekete-Győr (Momentum), Ferenc Gelencsér (Momentum) and Bence Tordai (Párbeszéd – Zöldek) are present.
The demonstrators soon declared the second demonstration that started on Clark Ádám Square closed and started the third demonstration. The two-tailed dog party provided the technical background for the movement on the square.
Tímea Szabó, leader of the Párbeszéd-Zöldek faction, spoke at Clark Ádám Square. After that, high school student Lili Pankotai closed the third demonstration and opened the fourth, saying that there are three Hungarian truths and one encore. He then called on the participants to march to the Carmelite monastery.
According to the daily’s report, two more left-wing members of parliament appeared in the crowd: András Jámbor (Párbeszéd-Zöldek) and Lajos Lőcsei (Momentum). Pushing and fighting broke out between the protesters and the police. The police called on the participants of the movement to step back, because their behavior was committing violence once morest an official. The students did this for the first time. However, some protesters in the construction area broke the cordon and entered.
“At 7:40 p.m., the police informed those who showed up at the Carmelite monastery that they were participating in an illegal, unannounced assembly and told them to step back from the police line,” says the police website.
