The Secretary General of the Union for Democracy and Progress (UDP), Mr. N’Diaye Mohamed Abdoul is optimistic at the start of the electoral campaign for the municipal, regional and legislative elections in Kaédi. Appointed to defend the colors of his party for the legislative elections in this central department of the Wilaya of Gorgol, this native of Néré Walo (15 km from Kaedi), a town located in the west of the region called Hirnagué Bossoya is a professor of Mathematics of his condition. A founding member of the UDP, since 2009 he has held the post of general secretary of the party. A big mark of trust. In his conquest of the chair of deputy, he has serious assets.

First of all, that of getting to know this territory, its different communities and sensitivities. Moreover, before the launch of the campaign, he spent nearly 3 months in the field to meet the populations of towns, villages, hamlets and camps. Fieldwork that might pay off on May 13. And everywhere he went, the people assured him of their support and promised to vote for the UDP lists on May 13. It is then added that his party, the UDP is very well established in Gorgol where he presented several candidate lists. “With the confidence and the commitment of the voters, we are optimistic,” said Mr. N’Daye. It is certainly to show the importance it attaches to this region in general, and to Kaédi in particular, that the UDP chose to launch its campaign from the capital of Gorgol on 28 April. An imposing ceremony chaired by President Naha Mint Mouknass and Mr. Sangott Ousmane, vice-president of the party, alongside Mayor Baradjii Kono, reappointed for a second term. The latter had won, to everyone’s surprise, the town hall of Kaédi in 2018. Another advantage of the UDP candidate, the vice-president of the party, Sangott Ousmane, a faithful friend of the late Hamadi Mouknass was a kaédi senator and knows perfectly the strengths and weaknesses of the local political microcosm. As a result, the UDP has always kept an undeniable sympathy there. It should be noted that 18 candidate lists are seeking the votes of Kaédi voters, a scattering of votes which might consolidate the position of the UDP whose candidates are in pole position.
