The number of new passenger car registrations rose sharply in April compared to the previous year, notes Febiac. The sectoral federation reports a 40% increase, following a 40% increase already recorded in March. Both the individual and professional markets are on the rise, according to the automobile federation.
In the first four months, more than 170,000 new passenger cars were registered, an increase of 30% compared to the same period last year. “These registration figures are not directly linked to the current order book”specifies the federation.
The light commercial vehicle market also recorded good monthly growth and closed April with a fourth consecutive monthly increase in 2023 (+19%). In the heavy-duty vehicle segment, the trend is even better: a 24% increase for those under 16 tonnes and a 30% increase for those over 16 tonnes.
