No danger to other vessels
Singaporean authorities have identified the vessel as the MT Pablo. The fire has been extinguished, the ship is afloat and does not pose a danger to other vessels, a Malaysian official told AFP.
Twenty-five crew members of MT Pablo have already been rescued, MMEA official Nurul Hizam Zakaria told local newspaper The Star. “Search now focuses on the three remaining crew members“, he said according to the newspaper. The cause of the incident is under investigation, the MMEA said.
