“The Top 10 Latin American Universities 2023: QS World University Ranking Reveals the Best Institutions in the Region”

The University of Los Andes and the National University are at the top of the 10 best universities in Latin Americaaccording to QS World University Ranking 2023 by the English firm Quacquarelli Symonds.

The University of Los Andes is located in the seventh placer within the top of the region, and in the 220 in the overall measurement, with a pscore of 41.6.

The National University is located in the oeighth place between Latin Americans and the 234 in the world.

Within the Latin American ranking, the best ranked is the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) with the 67th position in the world.

It is followed by National Autonomous University of Mexicoo (104) and the University of São Paulo (115).

The country that takes more positions within the top 10 of the region is Brazil, with three universities, followed by Argentina (two), Mexico (two) and Colombia (two).

It is worth mentioning that in this edition nearly 1,500 institutions from around the world were included.

Some of the criteria taken into account are from academic reputation up to the number of international students enrolled.

Taking an x-ray only of Colombian universities, 11 entities in the country were part of the top 1,000 of the ranking, which confirms the quality certification processes that higher education institutions have been developing.

The number one institution in the QS Ranking is the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

This, of a private nature, is located in Cambridge, United Statesand ranks first in employability.

It is followed by University of Cambridgea chartered public research institution serving more than 18,000 students.

It is often ranked among the best campuses for teaching and research.

Stanford University is another standout. Followed by Oxford and Harvard as the top five best universities in the world.
