Despite still missing 10 days to be announced, the Xperia 1 V had its design revealed “by accident”. Sony’s future flagship cell phone was spotted on billboards in the streets of Hong Kong.

As you can see in the image below, the Japanese manufacturer’s flagship will maintain the vertical alignment of the rear camera block, with a more prominent oval line, in addition to the presence of larger lenses.

The displayed billboard still highlights the slogan of the smartphone, which highlights the Xperia 1 V being “one for all lights”. In addition, the manufacturer promises that the device will have “the next generation low noise dual camera sensor”.

There was an expectation that Sony would implement an IMX989 sensor in this model as the main one. However, it will be able to put the IMX858 as primary, as it is the only platform to support the new low-noise LN2 mode, in combination with the multi-camera sync system (MCSS).

The operation of the LN2 consists of stacking photodiodes and pixel transistors one on top of the other in order to expand the dynamic range. This lets in more light and reduces noise compared to applying to the same substrate and plane.

The other details regarding the future device from the Japanese manufacturer will only be revealed at the presentation. The Sony Xperia 1 V is set to go official on May 11th.
