LOS ANGELES — Noah Syndergaard earned his first win in a Dodgers uniform, and Los Angeles had timely hits and capitalized on errors by St. Louis pitchers to beat the Cardinals 6-3 Sunday.
David Peralta drove in two runs for the Dodgers, who earned their first sweep of a three-game series of the season.
Syndergaard (1-3), who signed a one-year contract in the offseason, allowed three runs and eight hits in 5 1-3 innings.
St. Louis suffered its second sweep of the season and went 2-8 in its 11-day, 10-game road trip, the longest of the season. At 10-19, the Cardinals trail Pittsburgh by 10 games in the NL Central. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, it’s the first time since 1907 that St. Louis has fallen at least 10 games behind the division leader as of late April.
Evan Phillips pitched a scoreless ninth for his third save.
