An earthquake of magnitude 5 occurred in the area of ​​the Shiveluch volcano in Kamchatka. This was reported by the Kamchatka branch of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences in its Telegram channel.

The earthquake occurred at regarding 02:50 local time (17:50 on April 26 Moscow time) at a depth of 2 km. The tremors were felt in the village of Klyuchi, which is the closest settlement to the Shiveluch volcano.

The eruption of the Shiveluch volcano in Kamchatka began on April 10. As a result, the strongest ash fall in the last 60 years occurred in the region. The dome of the volcano also collapsed. During the day on April 29, 15 earthquakes were recorded in the area of ​​the volcano.
