Payment partners received information directly from NVIDIAthat a release date for the RTX 4060 or RTX 4060 Ti GPUs has not yet been set. The company intends to launch 4060 If by the end of May, but no embargo date has been set on the RTX 4060 yet.
The launch process for the RTX 4060 Ti has already begun, as indicated by a list of journalists and influencers. NVIDIA hasn’t started shipping the cards for May 5th yet, which should explain why there haven’t been any new photos or leaked specs lately.
Interestingly, the RTX 4060 Ti will use the same board number as the RTX 3060 Ti, namely PG190. This rarely happens when upgrading next generation GPUs, but it might potentially lead to cheaper cards.
After all, RTX 40 cards require less power, so cooling suitable for RTX 3060Ti should work for 4060 series as well. However, RTX 4060 seems to be using a new board called PG173: GeForce RTX 4060 Ti: PG190 part number 361 and GeForce RTX 4060: PG173 article 371.
NVIDIA hasn’t told its board partners regarding the price yet, so everything that is said at the moment is just a rumor. However, the use of an older PG190 board, and the limited memory specification of 128-bit bus and PCIe Gen4 four lanes may indicate that this is indeed a budget RTX 40 graphics card.
