The Cuban delegation headed by the member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Roberto Morales Ojeda, arrived this Friday in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, where it will carry out an intense program of activities.
According to the Prensa Latina agency, the visitors were received in Vientiane, the capital of the Asian country, by the head of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (PPRL), Thongsavanh Phomvihane, and other Party officials.
The agenda in this new destination includes a courtesy visit to the Secretary General of the PPRL and President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Thongloun Sisoulith, and a meeting with the permanent member of the PPRL Secretariat and Vice President of the nation, Bounthong Chitmany.

His first exchange was with Cuban collaborators Luis Mario Zamora, a Spanish language professor at the National University of Laos, and Felipe Fonseca, a boxing trainer. He was accompanied by the Cuban ambassador Enna Viant.
Morales Ojeda will sign a Cooperation Exchange Agreement between the two parties for the period 2023-2028, an act in which he will be accompanied by Chitmany, adds PL.
This Saturday, both leaders will preside over the first theoretical seminar for the exchange of experiences and current practices between political organizations, at the end of which there will be a meeting between the National Political and Public Administration Academy of Laos and the Ñico López Party Higher School, from Cuba.

The Cuban leader will also talk with the member of the Political Bureau and the Secretariat of the PPRL and vice president of the National Assembly of Laos, Chaeun Yiapaoher.
For her part, the first secretary of the National Committee of the Union of Young Communists of Cuba, Aylín Álvarez, will meet with her counterpart from the Lao Revolutionary Popular Youth Union, Monexay Laomoaxong, and will be awarded the Youth Medal, adds the Latin American news agency.
The program of activities for next Sunday includes courtesy visits to the president of the Lao National Assembly, Saysomphone Phomvihane; and to the Prime Minister, Sonexay Siphandone, with which the third and last day of the visit of Morales and his entourage to this Southeast Asian nation will conclude, reports PL.
The visit to Laos comes six months following the one made by the member of the Political Bureau and Cuban Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero Cruz, who thanked the invariable support received from Laos in the fight once morest the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed on Cuba by the US government.
During his stay in Vientiane, the Cuban Head of Government announced a donation of half a million doses of vaccines once morest COVID-19 to contribute to the immunization of the Lao people and ratified the will to continue consolidating the friendly ties and close collaboration between both nations, reported PL.
Laos is the second nation visited by the Cuban delegation that began this tour of China and will also visit Vietnam.
