PARAGUAY ELECTIONS 2023: HOW MANY POSITIONS WILL BE CHOSEN THIS SUNDAY, APRIL 30?
Next Sunday, April 30, Paraguayan citizens will have to choose these positions:
- President and Vice President of the Republic
- 45 incumbent senators and 30 substitute senators
- 80 titular deputies and 80 substitute deputies
- 17 governors
- 257 regular members and the same number of substitutes for Departmental Boards.
Despite the fact that they are very important positions, up to now the lack of proselytizing activity in Asunción, the capital of the country, has been surprising, since there are only a few days left before the end of the official term for the dissemination of propaganda in public spaces and roads, as well as in the media.
On the other hand, the electoral campaign was harmed by the financial sanctions that the United States imposed last January on the former president and leader of the Colorado Party, Horacio Cartes, allegedly for having participated in acts of corruption.
