The officers primarily focused on property crime, people who are being searched for and those who are in Austria illegally. The A8 in the direction of Wels was completely blocked from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m. on Sunday night, and traffic was diverted to the Kematen am Inn checkpoint. In addition, the officials checked at the Meggenhofen, Haag am Hausruck and at the rest area in Aistersheim.
The police officers made 2,286 inquiries in the search log – and found what they were looking for a dozen times: Twelve of the persons checked were listed by the courts for residence determination, 22 were staying illegally in Germany. They were all reported, 16 of them arrested.
41 reports of traffic violations
Some of the drivers have to expect ads for different traffic violations: three drivers were high, one driver was drunk. Your driver’s license was taken away. Three other people had no driving license at all.
The condition of the vehicles left a lot to be desired with several drivers. Seven cars had such serious technical defects that the officers had to remove the license plates on the spot.
Conclusion: 41 complaints were made and 171 official mandates issued for various traffic violations. One person complained of heart problems during the check, but then refused transport to the hospital.
