The ÖIF report on forced marriages delivers shocking results, an immediate stop to mass immigration from regions of the world that are foreign to our culture is urgently required
Vienna (OTS) – “The fact that there are around two hundred cases of forced marriages per year in Austria is shocking. The 54 suspected cases of underage victims who were reported to child and youth welfare in 2021 are particularly dramatic. We Liberals have been warning for years that uncontrolled mass immigration from uncultural regions of the world and above all from the Islamic world will import such archaic, misogynistic conditions. The most effective measure once morest this would therefore be an immediate stop to this ‘new migration of peoples’!” Rosa Ecker on the ÖIF research report on forced marriages in Austria published a few days ago.
In connection with this, Ecker recalled the answer to her parliamentary question on the subject of forced marriages by ÖVP Minister for Women Raab from January 2021, in which she referred to experts who at the time put the number of women affected by forced marriages in Austria at 5,000. “Since then, more than two years have passed and no serious measures have been taken by the black-green government once morest the unbelievable suffering of these women. Free counseling offers and ‘value courses’ have completely missed their target and parallel societies, in which women are deliberately sealed off from public life and thus prevented from seeking help, are growing steadily. Before that, however, the ÖVP and the Greens turn a blind eye, as do the multiculti-moved sham opposition parties SPÖ and NEOS!” said Ecker.
There should be no place in Austria for forced or even child marriages, genital mutilation and cultures of contempt for women: “The fact that forced marriage has been a separate criminal offense since 2016 is due to years of pressure from the FPÖ to that effect. The federal government and all other parties must no longer look the other way. On the one hand, decisive measures are needed to provide information for those affected – without misunderstood tolerance, in order to make the perpetrators a case for justice. On the other hand, we need to stop uncontrolled immigration from cultural areas in which an image of women that is incompatible with our understanding of values and law, which leads to such forced marriages, is commonplace!”
