Vice-Chancellor Kogler’s inheritance tax disguised as a “millionaire’s tax” is ultimately an attack on medium-sized businesses and the ÖVP is silent
Vienna (OTS) – As a “dusty ancient idea from the old Marxist mothball” criticized today FPÖ club chairman deputy and social spokeswoman NAbg. dr Dagmar Belakowitsch the Green Vice-Chancellor Kogler’s demand on social media for an inheritance tax disguised as a “millionaire’s tax”: “New taxes are the last thing Austria needs now. In view of the record price increases in all areas of life, which are destroying our prosperity, massive tax cuts or even their complete suspension, as we Liberals have been demanding for months for excise taxes on staple foods, energy and fuel, including the abolition of the pointless CO2 ‘penalty tax’, would be the order of the day! Instead, Black-Green lets the Austrians continue to suffer idly under the price explosion, while Vice-Chancellor Kogler, who has been “hidden” for weeks, now suddenly “appears” with this incriminating idea!”
The green Vice-Chancellor is only supposedly interested in millionaires, in truth he wants to get hold of the hard-earned assets of the broad middle class that have already been taxed several times: “Today Kogler is talking regarding an inheritance tax for ‘million heirs’, tomorrow this tax measure would already or condominium owners who have often worked for decades for their own home and paid taxes, and in the end all citizens who have not put their savings in foundations or other special constructions to safety. A government’s job is to enable prosperity, not destroy it.”
The fact that the ÖVP does not want to comment on the absurd “class warfare fantasies” of its coalition partner proves once once more that this party is politically finished. “The fact that the scandal-ridden ÖVP is simply silent is further proof that the People’s Party has finally sold itself to the Greens simply to retain power. Every day that this government is in office hangs the proverbial sword of Damocles of new burdens for the citizens. New elections as soon as possible are therefore more necessary than ever!”, explained Belakowitsch.
