In summer, the resort offers a multitude of outdoor experiences, for all ages and all levels, from the most relaxing to the most extreme.
Running
Vars is the ideal destination for running enthusiasts. Among the essentials, the Vertical Kilometer is one of the mythical crossings to discover: 6 km through forests and mountain pastures leading to the majestic summit of Razis and offering a view of the Vars valley. The Col de Vars, meanwhile, follows the initial route of the pass and leads the runners to the surrounding peaks. Trail runners will enjoy a 13 km loop offering a wide variety of terrain, the opportunity to discover one of the most beautiful spots in the area. For a gentler route accessible to all, the Tour des Villages is an excellent option for discovering the villages of Vars, with its remarkable buildings, sundials and fountains, which will accompany visitors throughout a route of 3.6km.

In Vars, summer and winter, it is possible to live a new experience accompanied by a furry buddy: the cani-rando. This activity invites you to discover the Varsinc landscapes in a different way, while enjoying the pleasure of practicing a hike that will be remembered.
Orienteering
Equipped with a map and a compass, participants will have to find their way through the forest while looking for markers scattered along the route. With the addition of 4 new orienteering courses this summer, the resort of Vars continues to develop its outdoor offer. One of them will be specially adapted for children. In total, 7 courses will be accessible this summer, allowing all levels to discover the beauty of the Vars landscapes while testing their orientation skills.
We climb trees
The adventure course in the trees is a flagship activity in the resort of Vars for thrill seekers. Indiana Forest Park is one of the largest tree climbing and zipline parks in France. With 250 workshops spread over 20 courses for all levels, participants can have fun and take up challenges in the trees in complete safety. Courses include suspended obstacles, rope bridges, nets and of course, zip lines. The little ones, aged 2 to 5, are not left out with the 5 “Farfadet” circuits specially designed for them.
A paradise for mountain bikers
Vars is a paradise for mountain bikers. With more than 160 km of marked runs, the resort offers a wide variety of routes for all levels, ranging from the green run for beginners to the black run for the more seasoned. The Vars Bike Park will be ideal for the most daring riders, with special modules that will allow them to test their limits in complete safety.. But that’s not all, the mountain biking experience is enriched by its latest innovations: the new Caribou green trail, a 4 km trail offering a vertical drop of 370 m, is a pleasant experience for beginners and families. Experienced riders can tackle the new blue “Rainbow line” run from the top of the Mayt chairlift, with its jumps and banked turns. Finally, for downhill enthusiasts, the Crazy Marmotte blue run has been extended for an even more intense experience..
Le Cano-Raft
The Cano-raft stands out for its fun and friendly aspect. This activity full of thrills will combine canoeing and rafting for a unique experience on the Durance. Lovers of fresh activities will sail in pairs on a handy and playful boat following having received safety instructions and navigation techniques from their guide. Once launched on the rapids, they will have to demonstrate coordination and communication to steer their canoe-raft and enjoy great sliding sensations on the famous Rabioux wave. In addition to the Cano-raft, visitors can also discover other activities such as kayaking, rafting or aquatic hiking.
