The head of the Ukrainian state spoke regarding this in an interview with journalist Dmitry Komarov. The journalist asked Zelensky a question regarding the capture, recalling the beginning of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Zelensky admitted that he was ready to fight to the last. He said that he even has a gun for protection. The President is sure that no one would take anyone prisoner. The defense of Bankova was seriously prepared. The power would remain there to the last. Boxes with weapons and ammunition were prepared.
“And I have a gun, I can shoot. Do you understand that the President of Ukraine is a prisoner of the Russians? I think it’s a shame. They would shoot back, yes,” Zelensky stressed.
At the same time, Zelensky noted that one cannot constantly think that the president is the goal. According to him, one must be an adequate person and understand that there are moments of security.
Recall, earlier it was reported that Zelensky made a statement regarding the war in Ukraine: it might drag on for decades.
