The fourth stage of the Formula 1 World Championship, which Azerbaijan is hosting this weekend, will witness the adoption of the “Sprint” race for the first time this season, out of a total of 6 races that will know the adoption of this system instead of classic experiences.
This system has been adopted since the year before last, but this season witnessed an increase in the number of “Sprint” races, and the International Automobile Federation “FIA” decided to make changes to the “Sprint” system compared to the last season.
And the French newspaper “Le Parisien” revealed, on Wednesday, the most important modifications that the “Sprint” race will know, as the free trial sessions will be limited to one session this week, following the drivers were engaged in 3 free trials at the end of each week.
During the second session, a first “Sprint” race will be organized between the drivers, with the aim of determining the ranks on the starting line for the official tests that will be held on Saturday, and it is among the new modifications in this season, as this race was held on Saturday morning.
On Saturday, a “Sprint” race called “Sprint Shootout” will be organized, which will determine the starting line composition, and the first 8 drivers will get points. .
It is also expected that the number of stages during which the “Sprint” will be used to determine the classification of the starting line will be increased, despite the objection of a number of drivers to this amendment, which may cause strong pressure.
