The main referents of the PRO meet this Friday in an attempt to tone down the party inmates and also to analyze the economic situation of the country.
The meeting will be attended by former President Mauricio Macri, the national deputy María Eugenia Vidal, the presidential candidate Patricia Bullrich, the Buenos Aires head of government and also a presidential candidate, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, the Buenos Aires governor candidate Diego Santilli, and the new incumbent of the party, Federico Angelini.
One of the items on the agenda will be the analysis of the economic situation and, in this sense, there might be a final document in which this political space expresses “concern” regarding the current situation, reported party sources.
Likewise, from the political point of view, the summit intends to try to reflect an image of party unity following the latest internal clashes.
The last political crisis in the PRO broke out following Rodríguez Larreta defined that local categories will be voted in the City with a single electronic ballot.
This determination was questioned by both Macri and Bullrich and Vidal, who publicly came out to question the decision of the mayor of Buenos Aires.
Today’s meeting will also take place within the framework of the definition of candidacies, with the situation of the political space in the city of Buenos Aires on the discussion table.
The ?hard? del PRO interpreted that Larreta’s decision to vote in the city of Buenos Aires with a single electronic ballot instead of the traditional ?sheet? it attacked the PRO candidates and favored the radical Martín Lousteau, who is the UCR candidate in the district.
In the city of Buenos Aires, both the Minister of Government Jorge Macri -with the support of Bullirch and Macri- are launched as pre-candidates for the PRO, while the Ministers of Health, Fernán Quirós, and Education, Soledad Acuña, are also in the race.
Larreta reinforced Quirós’ campaign teams with people he trusted last week, and he still keeps him in competition, while Acuña is mentioned as a possible candidate for deputy head of government for one of the yellow party’s candidates.
The PRO had announced that a single candidate was going to compete in the Buenos Aires district, but now the possibility of more than one candidate representing this political group going to the PASO is being analyzed.
Meanwhile, another of the pending definitions of the PRO for the electoral process has to do with the position it will assume in relation to the incorporation of the libertarian deputy José Luis Espert (leader of Avanza Libertad and former ally of Javier Milei) to the coalition, which already has the endorsement of the Civic Coalition and radicalism.
