- More legal drama in the alleged beating of a former SF fire commissioneras that commissioner Don Carmignani did not show up in court today so his attacker was released from jail. Carmignani is himself accused of instigating multiple bear mace or pepper spray attacks on homeless people, and given he did not show for a requested court appearance, the accused attacker was let go from jail until a May 23 preliminary hearing. - A man whose case was dismissed following he spent 15 months in jail has joined into one of the many lawsuits once morest the Antioch Police Department. Dreshawn Jackson spent a year and three months in Santa Rita Jail on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm, though he didn’t have a firearm when arrested, and now he’s got legendary civil right attorney John Burris representing him.
