The community, tired by the constant cases of insecurity, decided to unite to capture the perpetrator and do ‘justice into their own hands’. The alleged thief is charged with armed robbery.

It is said that the subject would have tried to rob an older adult in the sector, and in the midst of the struggle he injured her, arousing the outrage of the citizenry. Between kicks, shovels, punches and words like: “kill him” or “rot him” several men instead took on the task of hurting the subject, without leaving the case in the hands of the corresponding authorities.

Is insecurity skyrocketing in Bogotá?
The Secretariat of Bogota Security revealed alarming figures on security in the capital. According to councilor Samir Abisambra, on average, they are registering 260 cases of robbery in the streets of the city. Cases have risen sharply so far this year. The main victims of theft are men (59.31%); while women represent a lower figure (40.67%).
