The head of the Italian Foreign Ministry, Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani, said that Ukraine insists on increasing the supply of ammunition, long-range artillery and combat aircraft. He spoke regarding this in Parliament following the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the European Union (EU) countries, held in Luxembourg on April 24.

“Kuleba (Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.— “uh”) appealed to reach an agreement on the joint purchase of weapons by the European Union as soon as possible, and also pointed out the need for both more ammunition, long-range artillery, combat aircraft, and technical and logistical support for the Ukrainian army, ”said Mr. Tajani (quoted from TASS).

According to him, Dmitry Kuleba believes that “achieving a reliable peace is a common goal.” However, according to the Ukrainian minister, “now the time for diplomatic initiatives has not yet come,” added the head of the Italian Foreign Ministry.

Since February 24, 2022, the EU has transferred more than €49 billion in financial assistance to Ukraine, of which military assistance amounted to at least €3.6 billion. On April 13, the European Council approved a plan to supply Ukraine with €1 billion in ammunition through the Peace Fund. In March, the fund was increased twice – by a total of more than €4 billion – to cover the cost of arms supplies to Kyiv. Yesterday, April 27, the head of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, Oleksiy Reznikov, announced the depletion of stocks of missiles for Soviet air defense systems.
