8 months before the presidential and legislative elections and 30 days following the reorganization of the Sama Lukonde II government, the President of the Republic Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo recalled the priority areas for government action.
The first area concerns politics, justice, public administration, defense and security; the second area is related to economics and finance; the third concerns the reconstruction of the country and the last area concerns the social.
In all these areas, which are in fact the synthesis of the 15 pillars of government, the President of the Republic expects concrete results.
The Head of State reminded the members of the government of this at the end of the government seminar, the work of which he closed this Wednesday at the start of the evening at the Congo River Hotel.
In his closing speech, the President of the Republic said he expected each of the members of the government to implement the recommendations and resolutions resulting from the two days of work at the government seminar.
» You can count on my support to achieve the objectives assigned to you. “, he told them.
Reporting on the two days of work, Prime Minister Jean Michel Sama Lukonde said that this seminar was an opportunity for the government to remember the strategic objectives that underpin the government program.
It was an opportunity to review the working approach of the President of the Republic, to reclaim his vision and to open up new perspectives.
At the end of the exchanges in the form of presentations, each of the members of the government read and signed the act of ethical commitment.
Far from being a protocol formality, the signing of this document is a legal obligation provided for in the country’s constitution but also an act of faith and adherence to the vision of the President of the Republic in terms of good governance.
Before the Prime Minister, each signatory declared on their honor, to undertake to respect the fundamental values, the Constitution, the Laws and Regulations of the Democratic Republic of Congo and to comply with the terms of the Act of Ethical Commitment of Members of the Government.
Thus, for example, in terms of Public Service Values, each minister has made a solemn commitment to ” Prioritize the general interest; serve the State with sacrifice, abnegation and exemplarity to achieve the objectives assigned to the Government; mobilize his intelligence and his know-how to successfully carry out the ministerial duties entrusted to him; demonstrate his commitment through dedication, honesty, integrity, fairness, dignity, impartiality and loyalty in his relations with his colleagues and with the public.«
The act of ethical commitment also includes some prohibitions including the disclosure of professional secrets.
