Last Saturday, during a wedding celebration in Genvry, northwest of Paris, a friend of the newlywed groom allegedly violently injured his wife in the throat with a shard of a bottle, Le Parisien reported on Tuesday, according to France Live.
Shortly before, the particularly intoxicated man would have started to be insistent and aggressive with several wedding guests, forcing them to call the gendarmes.
But once they arrived on the scene, “heavily alcoholic” guests would have minimized the situation with the police and the disruptive individual was able to remain on site to continue the celebrations, according to the French media.
“There were several verbal and physical altercations,” a soldier told Le Parisien. But if he stayed, it’s because they wanted to keep him by not saying everything regarding what had happened. Otherwise, he would have been arrested, because in this kind of situation, it can quickly start once more.
The spoilsport would have seized a bottle to attack a guest, then the mother of the latter who would have rushed on the man.
The bride would then have tried to calm things down.
“That’s when he hit her with a shard in the carotid. She might have gone there,” said a policeman.
The bride was rushed to hospital by helicopter in a ‘worrying condition’ but her life is not believed to be in danger.
A total of five people were reportedly injured, while the perpetrator of the attacks was beaten while waiting for the emergency services.
