The British competition authority (CMA) has decided to block the merger between online video game giants Microsoft and Activision Blizzard, citing the risks of excessive sectoral concentration that this mega operation induces in the United Kingdom.
The CMA says it “concerns the deal will change the future of the fast-growing cloud gaming market, leading to reduced innovation and less choice for UK gamers in years to come,” according to a statement from the regulator on Wednesday.
