Some 400,000 visitors are expected until May 8 at Porte de Versailles, where more than 1,250 exhibitors will be present in the fields of household equipment, not to mention the prestigious Lépine competition and its batch of inventions.

“The Paris Fair, which celebrates its 119 years, has always been able to evolve with the times, we come here to discover the latest trends and innovations, we travel to the gates of Paris and we discover an offer that we do not see anywhere else”summarizes its director Steven Abajoli.

“It’s the largest consumer show in Europe for the home, with all the answers to its projects”, says Mr. Abajoli, citing key trends: “The renovation of the habitat, energy or not, because with telework we want more and more to live well at home. And the outdoors (outdoor activities, editor’s note) whose place is even more important since the Covid : last year we had historically high average baskets, mainly on the layout of the exteriors”.

Without forgetting “the tendency to consume locally, Made in France with the “French Creation Village” which is three times larger this year, or even crafts from around the world and the tropics to return to more authenticity”.

Some 113 million euros in turnover were generated “in the moment” during the previous edition, not including post-edition expenses.

Steven Abajoli says he does not fear an inflation effect: “Many exhibitors want to put forward specific prices for the Fair. In the house, the purchase is much more reasoned, but we will always go towards the desire to have fun. We will think more, compare on the internet , and we buy new because it will last longer”.

It also indicates that the entrance price has not increased since 2019, i.e. 15 euros at the rate “caisse” and 13 euros for a ticket purchased online.

Beyond the various workshops, concerts, shows and events – such as a round of the barbecue world championship – the Foire de Paris will also host a new sector dedicated to sustainable mobility: alongside electric scooters and bicycles, Renault Retail Group, subsidiary of the manufacturer, will exhibit “regarding thirty reconditioned, electric, thermal and hybrid cars available for purchase, a first”.

Not to mention the famous Lépine competition (122nd edition), which highlights the best inventor of an everyday object, among some 400 inventions in the running.
