‘Government responsible if anything happens’
New Delhi:Day and night strike by wrestlers in Delhi demanding action once morest Wrestling Federation President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh on sexual assault complaint has entered the fourth day. On Tuesday, political leaders and farmers from North Indian villages came to the Samaravedi in Jantarmantar in support of the stars. The protesting actors said that they have faith in the Supreme Court and hope that justice will be done.
On Sunday, the wrestlers who have won medals for the country on the world stage started protesting once more at Jantar Mantar, alleging that the assurances given when the strike was called off in January due to the same demands were not fulfilled. The protesters are demanding that action be taken once morest Brij Bhushan, who is also a member of the Lok Sabha of BJP, for sexual assaults on female actors, including minors. At the same time, Brij Bhushan Singh said that he would not comment on the matter under consideration of the Supreme Court.

Olympian Bajrang Punia said that some members of the federation approached the complainant girls and offered them money to withdraw the complaint. It is not known how the names of the complainants got out. The women players are complaining that the federation officials come to their homes and put pressure on them. Punia said that the police and the government will be held responsible if anything happens to the complainants. Wrestling stars Vinesh Phogat and Sakshi Malik also stated that they will not back down until justice is served. Police have beefed up security at Jantarmantar as the day and night strike continues.
