After briefly falling below 3,800 points and losing up to 0.94% on Tuesday shortly following the opening, the BEL 20 index was expected to gradually reduce its loss until it fell only 0.18%, ending at 3,825.77 points with 13 of its elements in the red.
Umicore (29.07) and Melexis (93.60) led the declines dropping 1.56 and 1.53% ahead of KBC (64.82), negative 1.34%.
Ageas (40.23) lost 0.52% while AB InBev (60.08) and arGEN-X (358.40) supported the Brussels index by gaining 0.43 and 1.62%, Sofina (207.00 ) up 1.07%.
Solvay (108.90) and UCB (87.94) gained only 0.14 and 0.09%, Galapagos (35.09) progressing by 0.52%.
The day was also marked by plunges of 18.7 and 31.8% by Bpost (4.53) and Sequana Medical (3.45), the first following a serious warning and the second following an increase in capital.
Agfa-Gevaert (2.69) finally fell by 6.4%, Euronav (15.73) and Ekopak (17.50) falling by 2.1 and 2.5%, ING (11.50) and Belysse (1.075 ) by 2.7%.
Econocom (3.14) and Roularta (18.00), on the other hand, rose by 1.3 and 2.8%.
Biosenic (0.1075) and Oxurion (0.0058) finally dropped 5.7 and 17.1% along with MDxHealth (0.36) and Mithra (2.80) which once more lost 3.7 and 4.7%.
Around 4:30 p.m., the euro stood at 1.0985 USD, once morest 1.1040 in the morning and 1.1030 the day before. The bullion was trading around 58,130 euros, up 315 euros.
