Total Customization: How to Customize the Galaxy S23 5G Lock Screen with One UI 5.1

With the latest version of Samsung OS, One UI 5.11, it’s even easier to personalize your smartphone. The Galaxy S23 5G* line already comes with the latest version of the software installed and, therefore, it is possible to leave the home screen displaying information such as the time in more than one zone, the list of appointments for the day, or even an image of your preference.

In just a few steps, you can define exactly what you want to be displayed on your Galaxy S23 5G’s screensaver. Displays appear automatically while the smartphone is charging or with the screen off. Check below how to customize the function.

To get started, open your smartphone’s Settings and select “Display”. Then scroll down to the bottom of the page and tap on “Screen Saver”.

You can choose from “Colors”, “Photos”, “Photo Frame” or “Photo Table” options. The first, “Colors”, will show you a palette of different colors, as shown in the image below.

The second option, “Photos”, allows you to choose images from a specific gallery or album, such as from the camera or shared via the Quick Share feature2, which will appear in full screen on your Galaxy S23 5G. Just tap on the configuration symbol next to it.

When selecting the “Photo frame” option, the difference will be in the display mode of the images that, this time, will appear in their original size, which can be vertical, horizontal or even square, with a black frame around the photos.

Finally, the “Photo Table” option is the one that presents a set of photos at once, in collage style. Here, you can even rearrange the images on the screen to the positions you prefer. Super funny!

Another option is to configure the “Always On Display”, which displays a clock and notifications when the smartphone is not in use, even when disconnected from the charger. To do this, go back to the settings and, a little below the “Display” option, you will find “Lock Screen”.

Tap “Always On Display”, activate the function, then select the option you like best for displaying the clock and notifications: “Tap to display”, “Always display”, “Display as scheduled” or “ Display for new notifications”.

Now comes the coolest part: tap on “Clock Style” and customize the clock display. You can choose more than one time zone, specific formats and different colors, to make the display your way.

By tapping “Picture Clock”, many more fun options pop up for you. Here, you can choose between stickers, emoji in augmented reality (an emoji of yourself) or bitmoji, which offers stickers with your custom emoji highlighted.

Next, we have options for photos from your gallery or themes purchased from the Galaxy Themes store.

All formats and customizations appear just below the clock, according to the selected display way – “Tap to show”, “Always show”, “Show as scheduled” or “Show for new notifications”.
