ABU DHABI, 25th April, 2018 (WAM) — Members of the Federal National Council group in the Arab Parliament will participate in the meetings of the parliament’s committees and its fourth session of the third session of the third legislative term, from 29 to 30 April in Cairo.
The UAE Parliamentary Division group in the Arab Parliament includes His Excellency Mohammed Ahmed Al Yamahi, Chairman of the Group, Member of the Foreign Affairs, Political and National Security Committee, Naima Abdullah Al Sharhan, Second Vice President of the Council, Vice President of the Group, Member of the Social, Educational, Cultural, Women and Youth Affairs Committee, and Ahmed Hamad Bushhab, Member of the Economic Affairs Committee. and Finance, and Shatha Saeed Al-Naqbi, Vice-Chairman of the Legislative, Legal and Human Rights Affairs Committee.
According to the agenda of the meetings of the Arab Parliament committees, His Excellency Mohammed Al-Yamahi will participate the day following tomorrow in the meeting of the Palestine Committee and the meeting of the Foreign Affairs, Political and National Security Committee, which reviews political and security developments in the Arab world, the initial draft of the political situation report for the year 2022 AD, and the committee’s work plan during the third session.
Her Excellency Naameh Al Sharhan is participating in the meeting of the Social, Educational and Cultural Affairs, Women and Youth Committee, which is scheduled to review the study of the mechanisms for approving the Arab Attainment Project (Certificate of International Proficiency in the Arabic Language) and to review the report on the social situation in the Arab world for the year 2022 AD, and developments in organizing a symposium on the protection of values In addition to discussing developments in preparing an Arab guiding draft law to combat domestic violence, and discussing activating the establishment of a fund to support the Arabic language in the least developed Arab countries.
His Excellency Ahmed Bushhab will participate in the meeting of the Sub-Committee on the Economic Forum of the Economic and Financial Affairs Committee the day following tomorrow, as well as the meeting of the Economic and Financial Affairs Committee, which reviews draft parliamentary questions directed to the Arab Organization for Industrial Development, Standardization and Mining, the Arab Authority for Investment and Agricultural Security, and the Arab Center for Area Studies. Arid and Dry Lands (ACSAD), Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, and Arab Organization for Agricultural Development.
The committee will consider the financial issues related to membership and the budget of the Arab Parliament until the end of last March. It will discuss the draft Arab guiding law on promoting investment in the fields of renewable and clean energy in the Arab world, and follow-up preparations for the Arab Forum on promoting economic integration among Arab countries.
HE Shatha Al-Naqbi is participating in the meeting of the Legislative, Legal and Human Rights Affairs Committee, which discusses a draft report on the state of human rights in the Arab world 2022, and a draft road map to combat child labor – especially its worst forms – in the Arab region by 2026.
The committee is also scheduled to review three notes submitted by the General Secretariat of the Arab Parliament regarding the preparation of an Arab guiding law to combat the phenomenon of bullying in the Arab world, the preparation of a unified Arab mechanism to take care of Arab refugees and work to resettle them in their countries of origin, and the repercussions of the earthquakes in Syria and Turkey on human rights.
