AEKKANOPAN, Waspada.co.id – A total of five detainees from the Kualuh Hulu Police, Labuhanbatu Resort North Sumatra Police, escaped from the bathroom roof and two were arrested.
Information received by Waspada Online, the five prisoners who escaped on Sunday (23/4) early morning, to be precise, the second Eid al-Fitr 1444 H.
Prisoners escaped following breaking into the ceiling and bathroom roof of the detention cell. The picket guards found out that the detainee had escaped, the Kualuh Hulu Police personnel carried out a sweep and succeeded in arresting the two perpetrators.
It was reported that five prisoners escaped with the initials RD alias GB, MRP, DN, AN and RZ. Each of the five detainees is suspected of being involved in a theft case which is charged under articles 362, 363 and 367 of the Criminal Code.
“That’s right, five prisoners escaped from the Kualuh Hulu Police cell. The detainees escaped by breaking down the ceiling and the roof of the bathroom. It was found that there were no metal safety nets, the ceiling was made of wood,” said a police officer on duty at the Labuhanbatu District Police, Monday (24/4) evening.
Sources told Waspada Online via cellular, five prisoners who escaped on the second Eid, but two were arrested, the fate of the other three prisoners is still being sought.
“If I’m not mistaken, the incident on Sunday (23/4) morning, the negligence of the guard at the police station, resulted in the detainees escaping. The five detainees are suspected of being theft cases, two have been arrested but their initials are not yet known, while the news of three other people do not know,” he said while asking not to write down their names.
Kualu Hulu Police Chief, Iptu Ghulam Yanuar Lutfi, was confirmed by Waspada Online regarding five detainees escaping from the bathroom cell, Tuesday (25/4), via WhatsApp chat and cell phone, yet to provide a response.
The police chief questioned once more that the two detainees had been arrested and what case the detainees were involved in? Then, has the arrest been reported to the Labuhanbatu Police Chief or the North Sumatra Regional Police Chief. Then Ghulam Yanuar Lutfi chose to remain silent without responding to Alert Online’s confirmation.
Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Regional Police Kombes Pol Hadi Wahyudi confirmed that Alert Online via WhatsApp had not provided an explanation even though the chat ticked two. (wol/rsy/d2)
