LUXEMBOURG – The elected officials of the city of Luxembourg presented this Monday, the “Summer in the City”, a fairly rhythmic summer calendar.
The summer will kick off with tech house on Thursday, June 22, in the capital, with the Belgian Lost Frequencies and the Spaniard Wade, headlining the free festival “City Sounds”, which returns in large format on two days at Glacis. On Monday morning, the elected officials presented the summer calendar of the city of Luxembourg, Summer in the City.
June 22, the eve of the national holiday, will also be duly celebrated, with the traditional fireworks and DJ scenes in the city center. As to whether they will have an all-nighter until 6 a.m. or 3 a.m. like last year. “That remains to be decided,” notes Patrick Goldschmidt, alderman in charge of festivals and the market.

“Kinnekswiss love…” (June 30 to July 2) has also been enhanced. The series of concerts in the park increases from two to three days. The headliner will be Stewart Copeland, drummer and founder of The Police. “He will revisit police classics accompanied by the Luxembourg Chamber Orchestra and the Grand-Ducal Military Band,” rejoices Patrick Goldschmit.
The Blues’n’Jazz Rallye should once once more attract thousands of spectators to the districts of Grund, Clausen and Pfaffenthal on 15 July. A scene was added bringing the number to eight. To wait for this summer musical deluge, remember that the music festival will take place on June 16.
Finally, “Summer in the City” is also the beach on Place du Théâtre (from July 6 to September 4), the reading corner near the Cathedral (from August 16 to September 3) and the Schueberfouer (from August 23 to September 11).
