Well supported by their goaltender, the Dallas Stars refused to put themselves in a precarious position and they signed a crucial 3-2 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Sunday.
After four games in this series, it’s equal everywhere, two wins on each side.
Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger shone in the game, especially in the second period when he frustrated two Wild players who spun alone in front of him. He first frustrated Marcus Foligno before serving the same medicine to Kirill Kaprizov to keep the score at 0-0.
Then in the final moments of the game, he robbed Marcus Johansson of the mitt with a one-timer to preserve his team’s lead. Oettinger ultimately blocked 32 shots.

Then, John Klingberg brought the Wild back into the game with his first of the playoffs with a wrist shot that beat Oettinger.
The Stars took advantage of a nasty penalty to Foligno late in the third to take a big two-goal lead at 16:29 as Seguin scored his second of the game. It was the seventh power play goal for Dallas since opening this series.
Foligno was sentenced to two minutes in jail for tripping Mason Marchment near the boards when the latter was obviously no longer in possession of the puck.
“It can’t be tripping someone up when you touch them properly,” Foligno protested angrily, beginning and ending his answer to a question regarding refereeing with the same expletive.
At the end of the game, Frédérick Gaudreau allowed the Wild to approach a goal with 80 seconds to go, but his club ran out of time.
Wild goalkeeper Filip Gustavsson yielded three times on 24 shots.
