A 51-year-old man, declared internationally wanted for drug trafficking, was put in police custody.
The arrested citizen is Besnik Osmëni, 51 years old, a resident of Vlora, following the Court of Appeal of Messina, Italy, has sentenced him to 8 years in prison, for the criminal offense “Trafficking in narcotics”, provided for by the Italian Criminal Code.
In the meantime, it is expected that Interpol Tirana, in cooperation with Interpol Rome and law enforcement agencies, will continue the procedures for the extradition of the 51-year-old to Italy.

Convicted of 8 years of imprisonment in Italy, for narcotics trafficking, caught in Vlora and provisionally arrested, the 51-year-old declared internationally wanted.
The services of DVP Vlorë and those of Interpol Tirana, following joint operations with European partners, as well as with the support of information intelligence, for the location of an internationally wanted citizen, have organized and finalized the police operation coded “Limit”, as as a result of which the citizen was caught in the neighborhood “Pavarësia”, Vlorë and temporarily arrested, with the aim of extradition to Italy:
