The incident occurred on a train linking Brussels and Namur.
Shortly before entering Ottignies station, a guide was confronted with a man born in 2002, from the Charleroi region. Very agitated, he was shouting and making comments that led the railway agent to think that he was armed and was potentially in possession of explosives.
It was therefore decided to stop the train at Ottignies station and to evacuate the approximately 300 passengers who were there.
Teams of police from several neighboring areas then converged on the ottintoise station.
The suspect was apprehended and deprived of liberty on Sunday around 5:15 p.m. When he was arrested, he offered no resistance. No weapons or explosives were found on him.
The young man was still heard by the investigators, Sunday evening around 7:00 p.m. It will be necessary to assess whether he might in particular be prosecuted for having uttered threats or whether his behavior falls within the psychiatric field.
