Kuan-min Kuan-min, Minister of the Presidential Office and Chairman of the Taiwan Constitution Foundation, passed away on February 27, and the Foundation will hold a farewell commemorative meeting today (23). In response to Kuan-min Koo’s “brotherly state” cross-strait argument, Vice President Lai Qingde said that he believes that the Taiwan Strait is wide enough to accommodate the survival and development of Taiwan and China, and hopes that this ideal will bear fruit.
The Taiwan Constitutional Foundation held a commemorative meeting for “Ku Kuan-min once morest the wind” this followingnoon. Lai Qingde said in his speech that he, like everyone else, came to the memorial service of Kuan-min Kuan-min, the predecessor of the democracy movement, with a heart full of reluctance, and thanked him for his lifelong sacrifice and dedication to Taiwan.
Lai Qingde pointed out that Koo Kuan-min has always been working hard for Taiwan’s sovereignty, democracy, and freedom whether in Japan, Taiwan, or around the world, whether publicly or privately. After the lifting of martial law, he continued to cultivate talents, enrich Taiwan’s democracy, and promote the normalization and development of Taiwan.
Lai Qingde revealed that he visited Kuan-Min Kuan once more before his death. After Kuan-Min Kuan’s last flower path in life, he worked hard for a clear goal all his life. He was born to exist for Taiwan. Others are secondary. Sacrifice and devotion also put forward the “Brotherhood of Brotherhood” as the direction that both sides of the Taiwan Strait must take in the future, and hope that this ideal can bear fruit in the future.
Lai Qingde also emphasized that he believes that the Pacific Ocean is large enough to accommodate the competition between the United States and China, and the Taiwan Strait is also wide enough to accommodate Taiwan and China to survive and develop here. This is the common goal that both sides should have.
