The non-profit sustainability organization Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) has honored Mahle for its activities in environmental and climate protection: In the CDP Rating 2022, the group received the grade “B” in the area of climate protection (“Climate Change”). In the area of water supply (“Water Security”), the grade improved to “B-” compared to the previous year.
Compared to other companies in the industry, Mahle is above average. According to the CDP methodology, companies that are rated with a “B” grade have considered the environmental impact of their activities and taken appropriate measures to reduce them in line with the 1.5-degree climate target.
Mahle wants to be CO2-neutral in its production by 2040. This has already applied to the company’s German locations since the end of 2021. Emissions in the supply chain and through product use are to be reduced by 28 percent each by 2030. (awm)
