Very sad news from Saône-et-Loire. This Friday, Élan Chalon announced the end of the season for its captain Mickaël Gelabale, victim of a stroke in training.
He no longer gave much news to NBA fans, Mickaël Gelabale suffered a stroke in training on Monday. In an open letter published on Élan Chalon’s social networks, the former Seattle SuperSonics winger announces that he is giving up on his end of the season.
“I am pleased to announce that I am back home. However, I will have to rest for several weeks before resuming a professional activity and unfortunately will not be able to return before the end of the season.
Dauphin de Pro B with 21 wins for 9 defeats, Élan Chalon will not be able to count on its 3rd position to try to regain access to the Betclic Élite, two years following having left it. This season, Mickaël Gelabale is shooting at 6.9 points at 44% shooting, including 29% from 3-pointers, 4.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists on average. Great feat to keep the professional level at 39 (40 on May 22). A return date? The letter from the former French international ends, in this sense, on a positive note. “I have good hope that the medical will gradually subside, which therefore does not exclude a return to the courts when I will be allowed to do so”.
End of the season for our captain ???? Press release from Mickael Gelabale!
