The Muslim faithful of Faranah, like their co-religionists in the country, celebrated the feast of Eid-el-fitr this Friday, April 21, 2023 marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Early this morning, while the coolness reigned in the city following the rain that fell on the city in the night from Thursday to Friday, the Muslim faithful dressed in their festive clothes joined their respective places of prayer.
In the courtyard of the Sallé Laye Samoura primary school where the authorities of the place fulfilled their religious obligation, the Grand Imam of the central mosque of Faranah, Elhadj Aboubacar Touré, in his sermon, addressed the importance of fasting before invite people to peace.
“If a Guinean suffers from an illness, all Guineans suffer from it. If a Guinean has happiness, all Guineans have it. If we get along, we’ll profit in this world and beyond. But if we don’t get along, we’re going to lose in this world and out there. We must accept God’s destiny. If you respect the principles of fasting, it is God himself who will reward you and it is God himself who will reward you in paradise. It’s hell we’re avoiding…”
In his capacity as governor of the administrative region of Faranah, Boundouka Condé first called on the population of his jurisdiction to unity and harmony before inviting this population to accompany the CNRD in the accomplishment of its mission in benefit of Guineans.
“I allow myself to thank the Almighty God who has allowed us to fulfill our religious obligation during this month of penance. I thank God for having given us the necessary strength to be able as so many of our authorities in the administrative region of Faranah to lead this region in peace, in tranquility and in harmony. I would like to call on the population for harmony, cohesion, to support the CNRD. We are there for the people and everything we are going to ask is for them. We are here for a while, as the President of the Republic said, and during this time, we are going to try to start the reform, the overhaul so that those who come following us have no problem continuing. So, we need the support of the whole population to accompany us in these works for the benefit of all of Guinea. »
