Raasik’s parent KERSTI KLIMENKO, municipality’s environmental specialist JOHANNA SEPMANN and head of Raasik’s Kodukandi Society ANTS KIVIMÄE at the playground of the old market place, which will be renovated in the near future.

A public playground will also be built next to the Tehase tee apartment buildings.

The municipal government is going to renovate the playground located in the central settlement of Raasik on the old market place, i.e. on the property bordering Turu and Meierei streets. The wooden playground or ronila with slides and swings will be removed from there, replaced by several new attractions. The old playground will be cleaned up and moved to the Tehase road, where the second public playground in Raasik will be built on the initiative of local people.

In 2011, Raasiku Kodukandi Selts built the only public playground in Raasiku on an empty property located next to private houses on Turu street. The creation of the playground was initiated by the leader of the society, Ants Kivimäe, who had small grandchildren at the time, and Maarja Sikut, who had small children.

The wooden playground that provided activities for children on the Turu street playground for more than ten years will be renovated and will find a new use in the second public playground in Raasiku, which will be created in the area of apartment buildings along Tehase road.

Kersti Klimenko, who lives in an apartment building and who, together with Maarja Sikuti, is the leader of the construction of a playground in the Tehas area, said that there are many users of the playground in the area: “There are already 22 children in our building alone. There are only two swings and a slide for them to play in front of their house. For the bigger ones, there is a very old basket ring by the field.”
