“NATO’s Support and Ukraine’s Potential Counter-offensive: The Latest Updates”

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg believes that Ukraine will be able to achieve a successful offensive if it is carried out in a “favorable situation.” He noted that NATO members provided “additional support in the supply of a colossal amount of artillery weapons, air defense systems, armored cars, tanks.”

“So I am quite sure that if Ukraine comes to the conclusion that the situation is favorable for launching a counter-offensive, then it will be able to succeed,” Mr. Stoltenberg told the German TV channel Welt (translated from TASS).

U.S. officials have repeatedly said they expect a Ukrainian counteroffensive in the coming weeks. Leaked Pentagon documents said it might take place on April 30th. Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin has previously spoken of “decisive weeks ahead.” But, according to the leaks, the United States is modest regarding the prospects for “territorial acquisitions” of Kyiv following the results of the offensive.

Oleksandra Ustinova, head of the Holos faction in the Verkhovna Rada, said earlier this week that Ukraine had planned an offensive in April but pushed back the deadline due to a shortage of weapons.
