“RockenVille – Retro Style Day: A Celebration of 50s and 60s Culture in Lannion”

The merchants of Lannion, in partnership with the Rotary club and the Early Birds Car Club, are organizing Saturday April 22 the first RockenVille – Retro Style Day.

This day dedicated to the 50s and 60s will first take place in the followingnoon on the Place du Général-Leclerc with a concert de rockabilly : at 3.30 p.m., concert by Chugg Norris “One man band”, then Bufford’s at 5.30 p.m. Free.

But also presentation of american cars classics before 1970, hot-rods and customs.

Retro village with stands of 50’s and 60’s clothing, decorative objects, modernized old radios, custom motorcycles, etc.

Three concerts at the Ursulines

The vehicles will then go up to the Ursulines room for the second part of the day. Three concerts will follow from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Clothing stands, vinyl records, barber and food-trucks (pancakes and galettes, burger) and refreshment bar on site.

The Nite Howlers. French group created in 2017 and composed of experienced musicians from the rock’n’roll and rockabilly scene, and inspired by the electric rockabilly of the end of the 50s and the wild rock’n’roll of the beginning of the 60s.

This group is the reunion of musician friends who wanted to recreate an atmosphere faithful to the rock’n’roll combos of the 50s/60s, with multiple sources and references from artists such as Benny Joy, Carl Perkins, Ronnie Dawson, Charlie Feathers …

The Monarchs. Created in Paris with the ambition of rediscovering the sound of the rock groups revealed at the end of the 1950s. The adventure is led by real rockers, well-known musicians from the rock scene, having played since the 80s/90s in various bands: The Jokers, Don Cavalli and the Two Timers, Hot Rhythm and Booze, The Megatons, Chrome Reverse.

Moutain Dew Cruisers Rock’n’roll. Do you like booze and carbs? That’s good, them too! A mix of rockabilly, rock’n roll, country and blues to rock whatever you’re craving. Influences: a bit of George Jones, a bit of the Hanks and a touch of Nick Curran and lots of other things.

All day in downtown Lannion, free. And in the evening at the Ursulines at 8:30 p.m., €20 on site/€17 in advance on HelloAsso.
