On an official visit to Conakry since April 18 to meet the socio-political authorities and discuss the transition exit process, the French Secretary of State for Development, Francophonie and International Partnerships, Chrysoula Zacharopoulou, spoke regarding the topics discussed with Mamady Doumbouya during her meeting with him.

« I discussed all the subjects with the president of the transition. France is committed to freedom of expression, the right to demonstrate and human rights. I have clearly expressed France’s position on these subjects “, she said during her press briefing.

Regarding the framework for dialogue requested by political leaders, Chrysoula Zacharopoulou believes that it is essential that the transition takes place peacefully and successfully for the good of the Guinean people: “ All voices must be heard and expressed. I transmitted the same message to the president of the transition as to the living forces. The agreements established between the authorities of the transition and ECOWAS include milestones and requirements of ECOWAS and the international community. As part of a peaceful and successful transition, inclusive dialogue is essential. I know there is significant mediation from the two religious leaders, and we encourage all actors to engage in a sustainable and inclusive dialogue. The success of this dialogue will bring the desired results for Guinea. »
