The sex toy market is booming: whips and vibrators, even following the pandemic, are very popular and EasyToys, the market leader in erotic products, reported a 10% year-on-year increase in revenue last year, NU says.

The turnover of the parent company EQOM Group amounted to 182 million euros last year: “During the pandemic, there were unprecedented sales peaks. We didn’t expect to pass them. This data confirms that interest in sexual wellness continues to grow,” says CEO Eric Idema. Collaboration with companies such as HEMA, Hunkemöller and Van der Valk Schiphol indicates that sexuality is moving out of the taboo sphere, says Idema. Erotic products are therefore increasingly found in mainstream shops, outside the sex shop niche.

And not only that, sustainable pleasure too: there is a greater demand among users of sustainable sex toys. Vibrators made from recycled material are on the list of best-selling new products. QOM Group now generates 60 percent of its turnover from abroad. The company operates in eight countries, including the UK, Germany, Poland, Italy, Spain and the Scandinavian countries.
