The Minister of Defense and the Minister of Social Development, Jorge Taiana y Victoria Toulouse Peacethey signed an agreement together with the mayor of Rosario, Paul Javkinso that the Army begins to carry out urbanization tasks in popular neighborhoods from the city of Santa Fe.
Military units will work in the Uncle Rolo neighborhood and in other areas of Rosario at the request of the municipality. There they will dedicate themselves to the construction and conditioning of roads and the extension of the drinking water network in order to supply 1,456 families, according to the agency. telam.
Taiana defined the agreement signed as “an important task of our Forces in support of the community” and explained that the Army Engineers have a “long experience in subsidiary tasks of the Armed Forces that greatly help to improve the living conditions of the inhabitants.”
“This task is very important because it reinforces the presence of the Stateworking together with the Ministry of Social Development to come up with concrete actions,” said the Defense Minister in dialogue with the aforementioned agency.
The official assured that “it’s a step in the right direction” and added: “We are showing the presence of the State through community support tasks by the Army, particularly the Engineers arm, and I think that this has a clear concrete result.”

In turn, Javkin, the mayor of Rosario, explained that he signed with the ministers three conventions linked to the connection of drinking water, street access and accessibility to one of the neighborhoods located in the extreme southwest of the city.
“Rosario today needs the presence of the national State in the reconstruction of our fabric”, maintained the communal chief and pointed out that these actions “will result in a very immediate improvement in living conditions.” In addition, he affirmed that the presence of the members of the Army in the neighborhood was received as “a very auspicious event.”
Specifically, the agreements between the Army and the Municipality of Rosario seek the road construction and demarcation to facilitate communication between neighbourhoods, the extension of regarding 2000 meters of the water network drinking and the leveling, cleaning and improvement of roads access to the Tío Rolo neighborhood.
