(CNN) — The Sudanese Armed Forces announced, Thursday, that 177 Egyptian soldiers, who were trapped in the country due to the ongoing battles, returned safely to Egypt.
This came in a statement by the Sudanese Armed Forces, in which it said: “Today, in coordination between the Sudanese and Egyptian sides, 177 technical staff from the Egyptian Air Force were evacuated to the Arab Republic of Egypt from Dongola Airport (northern Sudan) via four Egyptian military transport planes.”
In its statement, the Sudanese Armed Forces stated that this Egyptian force was part of a “training protocol signed between the two countries in 2018.”
