The Faculty of Law of the UBA This Wednesday, April 19, became the scene of a camp battle as a result of a group of students who tried to enter “by force” in a extraordinary assembly summoned to reform the statute of the Student Center. From the leadership of the Center, they targeted “Kirchnerist groups” that would have tried to join the meeting by force.

Participation in the assembly required prior accreditation and the incidents broke out following several students tried to jump the fence to enter the Aula Magna.

A riot and a true pitched battle ensued, with shoving, sticking together and multiple attacks in the corridor of the Faculty.

What the statement from the Student Center says

The student leadership issued a statement to convey its version of the violent events that took place during “the extraordinary assembly that reformed the statute of our Student Center.”

“At 9 in the morning,” the statement detailed, “the accreditation of students began, as established by our statute, in the presence of IGJ observers, groups and notaries.”

“Around 11:45, when the Aula Magna was already full with approximately 500 people, in one of the entrances to the accreditation a group of people identified with La Cámpora wanted to enter by force without being students. In the videos that are circulating, it is clearly seen how they want to force entry, throwing down fences,” added the Student Center of the Faculty of Law.

Aníbal Fernández pointed to La Cámpora: “In 2015 they played to lose, they said so”

“In events such as the one on this date, it is necessary to have formal organizational criteria, in order to guarantee the greatest transparency, adjusting to the statutes and regulations. For this reason, the accreditation table reviewed whether they were in the official standards that they were provided by the Faculty and if so, an assemblyman’s seal was delivered”, they explained.

On the other hand, the communiqué warned that everything was going on as normal until the groups allegedly linked to La Cámpora “decided to generate the violence that we are all used to living when the results are not in their favour”.

In the last paragraph they lamented “the violence of the Kirchner groups” in the Faculty.
